Hidden Canyon Residence
Laura and I met when our kids were in nursery school, so she and I have spent long hours in the garden watching our children grow as well as recognizing the changes in light distinguished by the canopy of Sycamores and Coast Live Oaks trees.
This space has been a haven for family gatherings and friends as well as our winged and four legged friends.
Nestor, and his partner Pancho have been the maestros in curating and developing this site for more than 15 years. When Gophers descended on the property about two years ago, we lost a good - sized portion of plants in the courtyard which led to a full redesign. We went from wildflower and native fescue Meadow to a more structured and now cage planted Manzanita and Ceanthous grove. I found a Stan Bitters fountain element on Etsy which Laura and I placed together as a totem of strength to watch over the garden and welcome visitors.
